Recent updates may have expanded access to feature(s) discussed in this FAQ. Visit your product's support page, select the correct hardware version for your device and check either the Datasheet or the firmware section for the latest improvements added to your product.
When you create a TP-Link ID, an email address will be required. Your TP-Link ID uses email addresses to sign you in to your account with TP-Link devices or TP-Link Apps like VIGI App, Kasa App, Tapo App, Tether App, Deco App etc. and provide the related services.
Most of the TP-Link devices can still function properly without using the App or TP-Link ID, but the VIGI App, Deco series, Kasa series and Tapo series devices must be set up and managed through the Apps.
With TP-Link ID, you can:
- Verifying your account.
- Resetting your password.
- Remote management of your TP-Link devices.
