How to log into the web management page of the range extender

Recent updates may have expanded access to feature(s) discussed in this FAQ. Visit your product's support page, select the correct hardware version for your device and check either the Datasheet or the firmware section for the latest improvements added to your product.
There are two methods to log into Range Extender: Web UI and Tether APP. Please check below for details.
Note: To log in to Range Extend, please ensure your device is connected to Range Extender’s Wi-Fi.
Method1: Via Tether APP
Note: Please make sure your TP-Link Range Extender is compatible with Tether APP. You may check the compatible list of Tether App.
Step1: Connect your device to Range Extender’s Wi-Fi.
Step2: Launch Tether APP.
Step3: Tap your Range Extender to log in, please type in username and password if it is the first time to log into your range extender via Tether App.
Note:
1). If the Range extender is brand new, please create a new username and password (without any special characters) for secure management purposes.
2). Tether App will use the same login credentials as the web interface for your range extender.
Method2: Via Web UI
Note: If you want to configure other settings after Quick Setup, you can launch a web browser and type www.tplinkrepeater.net and log in with the password you set for the extender. This article is only applied to the situation for configuring the range extender from scratch.
Follow the steps below, here takes RE305 as a demonstration:
1. Plug the extender into an electrical outlet near your host router, and then wait until the Power LED is solid on.
2. Connect your computer to the extender's wireless network.
Tips: Before connecting, please find the SSID (network name) on the label of the extender.
For Windows Users
Unplug the Ethernet cable from your computer (if any).
Click the Wi-Fi icon on the taskbar and connect to the extender’s wireless network: TP-LINK_Extender_2.4GHz or TP-LINK_Extender_5GHz or TP-LINK_Extender.
For Mac OS X Users
Unplug the Ethernet cable from your computer (if any).
Click the Wi-Fi icon in the top right corner of the screen, and connect to the extender’s network: TP-LINK_Extender_2.4GHz or TP-LINK_Extender_5GHz or TP-LINK_Extender.
3. Launch a web browser and type www.tplinkrepeater.net or IP (192.168.0.254 by default) in the address field, then press the “Enter” button.
4. Type in username/password to log in.
Note: If the Range extender is brand new, please create a new username and password (without any special characters) for secure management purposes.
If you are unable to login to the webpage, please try the following tips:
1.Try to have a different phone or computer connected to the Wi-Fi of the extender
2. Try a different browser
