Recent updates may have expanded access to feature(s) discussed in this FAQ. Visit your product's support page, select the correct hardware version for your device, and check either the Datasheet or the firmware section for the latest improvements added to your product. Please note that product availability varies by region, and certain models may not be available in your region.
Note: In an Easymesh network consisting of two or more routers, the first router connected to the internet source acts as the controller, while the others function as agents.
The DSL Modem Routers and 4G/5G routers can only operate as controllers.
(If you don’t know the type of your model, please click DSL Modem routers and 4G/5G routers to check.)
For the router and mesh system, they could be controller or agents.
(If you don’t know the type of your model, please click routers and mesh system to check.)
Preparation for the setup:
1. Plug in the agent router next to the controller.
2. Ensure the agent router is in its factory reset state.
If you are not sure, please reset the agent router before adding it.
Here are three methods to add an agent router:
1.WPS button
This method allows you to add a TP-Link router or a router from another vendor to an EasyMesh network.
Press the WPS button on both devices once.
Note: Ensure the WPS button is activated before pressing the physical button.
When the EasyMesh network is established, the internet light on the agent router is lit.
2. Scanning
This method is only used to build an EasyMesh network between TP-Link ISP-customized models.
