TP-Link® Unveils OneMesh™, a Flexible and Cost-Effective Wi-Fi Network that Covers the Entire Home
Shenzhen, China, June. 4, 2019 – TP-Link®, a leading global provider of consumer and business networking products, today announced the expansion of its whole home mesh offerings—TP-Link OneMeshTM, a flexible and cost-effective whole home networking solution. TP-Link OneMesh offers consumers more choices and options to experience whole home Wi-Fi, without replacing existing devices or purchasing a whole new Wi-Fi ecosystem. Besides, the first OneMesh range extender is also unveiled.
While typical whole home Wi-Fi systems are viewed as expensive by most consumers, OneMesh allows TP-Link router users to enjoy a mesh experience by simply upgrading their router’s firmware and adding a OneMesh Wi-Fi range extender to their existing devices*. Just connect a OneMesh range extender or Powerline extender to a OneMesh router, and the Mesh network is set up. OneMesh will be offered alongside all TP-Link small office and home office product lines, including wireless routers, range extenders, XDSL, 3G/4G routers, powerline adapters.
OneMesh eliminates dead zones and boosts signal strength via a single Wi-Fi network that covers every corner of the home, so users no longer have to wander around in search of a stronger signal or faster connection. OneMesh also intelligently connects mobile devices to a router or extender, whichever provides the best connection. The OneMesh router and extenders share a single Wi-Fi name so users can stay connected to the same network as they roam from room to room, enjoying uninterrupted streaming, downloading, and more—throughout their homes. Additionally, OneMesh features APS (Adaptive Path Selection) and Band Steering, which keeps the network running at top speeds by intelligently choosing the fastest connection path for user data. And OneMesh’s self-healing network ensures a stable Wi-Fi network to keep all devices connected, even when a Wi-Fi path has an issue. The network system automatically reroutes the data to fill gaps in coverage to keep you online at all times. What’s more, managing OneMesh is a snap. You can manage your whole-home Wi-Fi by managing the central node once and for all via the Tether app or Web UI and easily adjust and customize wireless settings including your Wi-Fi network name and password.
The new AC1200 dual-band RE300 Wi-Fi range extender is the first OneMesh range extender to market in April 2019, featuring up to 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps at 5 GHz**. With new OneMesh technology, the RE300 will work with the Archer C7/Archer A7 (with the OneMesh firmware upgrade in April) to create a flexible and cost-effective mesh Wi-Fi solution for your home. More and more products will support OneMesh based on further development in the near future.
“We are extremely proud to roll out OneMesh, the most flexible and cost-effective mesh network on the market,” said Pingji Li, GM of the Network Business Department at TP-Link. “OneMesh provides users with a more flexible and cost-effective network, allowing them to enjoy seamless coverage and the fastest possible speeds throughout their homes.”
