TP-Link Maintains Lead in Global WLAN Market Share Rankings
(Shenzhen, China) – July 11, 2012 – TP-Link, a global provider of networking products, has continued to maintain a dominant lead in the global WLAN market share rankings by units shipped, according to Worldwide Quarterly WLAN Tracker, May 2012 by leading IT market research and advisory firm IDC, ranking the world’s wireless networking equipment vendors by product shipments and revenues.
With a 34% share of the WLAN market, based on products shipped, TP-Link has gained an early lead in 2012 over competing vendors, seeing more shipment volume than the next two leading vendors combined. This is not, however, the first time that TP-Link has topped the WLAN industry, having, according to the same report, been consistently ranked the world’s largest supplier of Wireless networking products, at least from Q1 2011, the earliest data that IDC has on record for TP-Link.
Despite these positive results, the company remains focused. “While we are very proud of these results; they do indeed give us confidence that we are providing customers with the value we believe they deserve, we remain committed to improving many aspects of our company, from technological and industrial design perspectives, as well as improved user friendly setups and technical support”, says TP-Link’s Director of International Business, Jeffrey Chao.
Having rapidly grown since entering the international market in 2005 and already having taken the leading market share in China, TP-Link is one of the only networking equipment vendors with independent manufacturing facilities. These state of the art facilities, in tandem with large investments into R&D and strict quality control has allowed the company to strictly control costs and provide networking devices of the highest quality, at an affordable price to end-users; an effective strategy it would seem, given the report’s findings.
