If your Tapo Robot Vacuum isn't releasing water while mopping, here are some steps to get it back on track:
Step 1: Make sure the mop mount is installed properly.
When the mop mount is installed properly, the robot vacuum will give a voice prompt indicating that it has entered Mopping Mode, and you can adjust the water level in the Tapo App.
Step 2: Make sure the water tank does not add any cleaning agent.
The cleaning agent may damage the water tank. Therefore, it is suggested that water is used only.
Step 3: Wipe the metal contacts.
The metal contacts on the water tank and the main unit may be dirty. Please use a cloth dampened with water or alcohol to wipe them, then dry them with a tissue, ensuring the contacts are clean and shiny.
Step 4-1: (For Max Models) Clear the air intake.
If your robot vacuum is RV20 Max series or RV30 Max series, please troubleshoot further using the steps below.
1. Check whether the air intake of the black rubber plug on the top is blocked and clear it.
2. How to clear the air intake.
1) Open the black rubber plug and use a screwdriver or similar tool to gently poke the air intake hole on the rubber plug several times to clear any blockages in the valve body to ensure that the air intake can expose a small gap for light transmission.
2) Close the black rubber plug and try to run the robot vacuum to see if it can mop normally.
3) If the mopping function returns to normal, trim approximately 0.5mm off the top of the air intake body with scissors to prevent the issue from recurring.
Step 4-2: (For No-Max Models) Align the metal contacts on the main unit.
If your robot vacuum is RV10/RV20/RV30 series, please gently pull the metal contacts on the main unit outward to ensure they align properly with the contacts on the water tank. Note: Make sure to power off the robot vacuum before doing this.
